CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – On Monday evening, the Caryville Board of Mayor and Aldermen met with an agenda filled with budget ordinances.

First up was a first reading of Ordinance 2022-07 adopting an amended annual operating budget for the fiscal year 2022-23 was completed. The budget had to be amended to include the ARPA funds the town received. Ordinance 2022-08 amending the 2021-22 operating budget for the town had a first reading.

The board agreed to apply for the TML, the Public Entity Partners Safety Grant with a 50/50 match. The town uses the funds to increase safety for city employees. Resolution 2022-05 to apply for the TML grant was approved.

A second reading of Ordinance 2022-06 was completed.  The ordinance creates a design review commission in the Town of Caryville to develop general guidelines for the exterior appearance or nonresidential property in the historic downtown district.

The town will have two teams in the 7th Annual Clays for Children Sporting Clays Tournament, one team will be the police department with the second being comprised of aldermen.  

In final business of the evening, the board agreed to advertise for bids for a salt box for the new truck the town has on order. The box will be a universal fit that can be utilized on any of the trucks. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/13/2022-6AM)
