CASA Bluegrass Breakdown is Saturday

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The 21st Annual CASA of Campbell County Bluegrass Breakdown is Sat., July 23. Tickets are on sale now. The concert will be at the Ball Farm Event Center and supports a cause for Campbell County Children.

Doors open at 4:30 pm and the event kicks off at 5 pm, with the live auction starting at 8pm. Tickets for the event are $30 for adults, $15 for youth 17 and under and free to kids 5 and under. 

According to CASA Director Jan Jones, it will be a “fun filled family friendly evening complete with music by The Birdsongs, Eddy Sweat and Thundercreek and Caden Poston with Second Chance.”

Special guest speaker for the evening is Tennessee Highway Patrol Captain Stacey Wood-Heatherly.

A catered meal will be provided by Classy Threads Catering. Made to Play will provide lots of fun activities for the kids. 

There will also be a Dunk the Candidate booth where six local candidates have all agreed to raise money for CASA. Whoever raises the most money will be deemed CASA Royalty.

“All will go under but only one will rise to be named CASA Royalty,” Jones said.

Door prizes will be given throughout the evening. The ticket cost will provide you an evening of great music, good food and a chance to bid on the live and silent auction items. 

“We have some great items that you will not want to miss out on. The evening will be full of great bluegrass and gospel music and tons of family friendly fun things to do. Funds raised at this event help us help the children of Campbell County, ” said Director Jan Jones. 

Saturday’s fundraiser is an important one for CASA, which will use the funds to recruit and train volunteers and advocates.

According to Jones, fundraising plays a very important role in the CASA Program. 

“Funds raised at this event will enable us to recruit and train volunteers to be a voice for the abused and neglected children here in Campbell County. All too often these children are removed from their homes and placed in foster care while having to face the court system alone. For any child this can be a very scary time in their life. That is where a CASA volunteer Advocate steps up, they work the assigned case and appear in court to make sure that child’s voice is heard,” Jones said. 

CASA of Campbell County is a 501(c)(3) organization established in 2007 for the wellbeing of Campbell County’s children.
