LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Where My Heart Leads Thrifty Boutique is a “thrift store to benefit women.” Founded by Jannie Hartter, the store opened in September of 2020. According to Hartter, she was led by God to start the Boutique which benefits local women’s charities and organizations of Campbell County.

It is a family business that Hartter operates with her daughter Katey Monday.

The Boutique frequently has pop-up sales, which are announced on its Facebook page. Every Tuesday is a “40 and Fabulous Sale” where age 40 and up gets 20 percent off, and there’s always stuff for sale on the $1 and $2 racks.

The Boutique offers a large selection of clothing and accessories for women and kids, everything from dresses, shoes, shorts, jeans, formal wear and more.

“Everything sold or donated goes to help our mission of sharing God’s promises to women,” Hartter said.

Her main goal with the store is to “help and inspire women to feel good about themselves.”

Her inspiration for the business came after suffering a severe heat stroke in May of 2020. During her recovery from that she prayed to get better and for the Lord to show her a way to give back. She got better and knew God wasn’t done with her. The idea to start the Boutique in downtown LaFollette to help Campbell County women came out of her recovery experience.

Hartter and her daughter go the extra mile for the store to have that “Boutique feel.” All clothing is cleaned and sanitized and their customer service is topnotch.

“I just wanted it to be a quiet place for women to come and get a warm smile, a helping hand, and a listening ear. God gets all the credit for this. He has blessed us so big. The vision and success of this is all owed to Him,” Hartter said.

She also said she wanted to draw more women and families to the downtown area and see it thrive and grow.

Anyone who brings a donation also gets 15 percent off their purchase that day.

Hartter said she wanted to say thanks to all her customers and to everyone who donates to keep the store going. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
