LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Teachers make a difference in their students lives each and every day. For many students, having a teacher, counselor or principal who cares and goes that extra mile can be the difference in a successful education and graduation. We’ve all had that educator who has inspired us or helped in some way. That’s why WLAF and Eagle Tire Pros salute all of our hard working educators with a weekly feature. This week’s featured educator is Betty Beter. She has been an educators for 38 years.

Beter is a speech/language therapist for Wynn, White Oak and Elk Valley Elementary Schools. She is originally from Louisiana but has resided in Tennessee since 1988.

Betty Beter is Eagle Tire Pros and WLAF’s teacher of the week.

Beter’s professional career spans 38 years of public school service across Louisiana, Alabama, Kentucky and Tennessee.  She currently provides weekly speech and language services for Wynn, White Oak and Elk Valley schools.

“It is in this educational setting that I find my greatest joy. My students continue to inspire and challenge me on a daily basis. Learning and achieving together with them has always been my motivation as well as the best part of what I do. Therefore, no plans to retire any time soon,” Beter said.

Every Thursday, WLAF’s Charlotte Underwood features the WLAF – Eagle Tire Pros teacher of the week. That educator also receives a free oil change from Eagle Tire Pros.
