LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The power went off at 6:38am and was back online by 7:13, some 35 minutes later this Wednesday morning. LUB crews, a team of 10, made quick and efficient work of their planned project.

If you live in the neighborhood around WLAF on North 5th Street, crews with LUB turned off the power at 6:38am Wednesday to make some major repairs.

“This will affect about 30 of our customers, and the work our men need to do should take an hour or less,” said LUB General Manager Kenny Baird.

Both work locations, here at the corner of Walden and 7th Streets, and further down West Walden Street have two bucket trucks going.

Some customers on North 5th Street, North 7th Street, West Walden Street and Nevada Avenue are without power for a short time and are adjusting their morning schedules as a result.

WLAF was off the air for a few seconds until its generator kicked on. Those of you listening to AM 1450, FM 100.9 or watching/listening to WLAF-TV 12 likely noticed a brief interruption. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/13/2022-7AM)
