OAK RIDGE, TN (WLAF) – Campbell Cougar Tennis keeps its winning streak alive as its undefeated season continues. The Cougars won 5 to 4 over host Oak Ridge on Thursday afternoon. “I’m so excited. Oak Ridge is the gold standard in every sport, every aspect,” said third-year coach Josh Parker.

In boys also, the doubles group of Noah Burden and Blake Roberts won in exhibition play. Burden and Roberts both won their singles matches as well in exhibition.

Parker adds that he’s thrilled for the team, school and community, and that it’s good to see a heightened interest in tennis.

There is only one senior, Carson Meade, on the Cougars squad. The Lady Cougars team features seven seniors.

The Cougars are now 7 & 0 while the Lady Cougars are 3 & 4 after falling at Oak Ridge. “The Lady Cougars are playing their best tennis right now,” said Parker.

The schedule takes CCHS to Halls Middle School this afternoon for matches that begin at 4 pm against the Gibbs Eagles. On Tuesday, Campbell plays at Tazewell against Claiborne County with the regular season winding down Thursday, April 29 at Maynardville with Union County.
