LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – April’s Regional Planning Commission meeting for the City of La Follette was held Thursday evening at City Hall. There were a few items on the agenda.

A new billboard was approved to be set within the city limits. The billboard will be located at 2511 Jacksboro Pike across from Taco Bell on the Hollingsworth property. The State of Tennessee already approved the billboard; the commission approved it at the meeting.

Michael Hutson applied for an in-home occupancy request at 201 South 14th Street. His business would require no extra signage, no additional traffic would be seen, and all equipment would be in a storage building. Hutson has a pressure washing business but hopes to expand into lawn maintenance.

There were three requests for in-home occupancy in regards to Air B&B rentals. These requests were tabled for the next meeting under advisement from the city’s attorney due to needing to clarify the zonings of the properties. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/23/2021-6AM)
