PIONEER, TN (WLAF) – Elk Valley’s Kennedy Walden is WLAF’s teacher of the week.  Walden teaches third grade at Elk Valley Elementary School and is in her first year teaching.

Walden said it has always been her dream to become a teacher. “I love children and I love learning! I want to make learning fun and show my students that with hard work and effort they can achieve great things.”

She said her favorite part about being a teacher is getting to know the students and see them use the skills she has taught them. “It is such a great feeling to see students grow and improve,” Walden said.

Despite the changes to the school system brought on by the pandemic, Walden said this year has had many positives.

“This has been a crazy year; however, there are SO many things to be thankful for. I’m so thankful and blessed to have an amazing class, awesome work family, and a great school. We have all worked together to make this year a success.”
