CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – Last night the Town of Caryville approved a beverage permit for on premise and off premise consumption for Joe Arnold at Jack and Dianne, LLC at 312 John McGhee Blvd. near the Dollar General Store.

Another item on the agenda was Ordinance 2021-03 modifying Title 18 of the Caryville Municipal Code. It was approved. The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation requires the Caryville-Jacksboro Utility Commission to make regular updates to plant protection criteria and local limits. This ordinance fulfills the requirement.

Ordinance 2021-04 amending the annual operating budget for the fiscal year July 1, 2020-June 30, 2021 was passed on the first reading.

The Interlocal Agreement to establish a Joint Economic and Community Development Board in Campbell County was approved.

Mayor Bobby Stooksbury discussed the Local Government Recovery and Rebuilding Direct Appropriation Grant for the fiscal year 2021-22. If the grant is approved, the Town of Caryville is slated to receive $77,002.

Jordan Tolliver was hired as a full-time police officer effective the at the end of the week when his 90-day probationary period will be completed. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/09/2021-6AM)
