A wreck on Thursday in northern Campbell County involved more than 20 vehicles according to TDOT.

JELLICO, TN (WLAF) – An injury crash initially reported to involve a vehicle and an 18-wheeler ended up closing I-75 southbound and soon developed into a multiple vehicle mishap.

Just after 4 pm Thursday the call of the wreck was reported to Campbell County E-911 Dispatch. It was at mile marker 155, five miles south of Jellico, where TDOT reported that eight commercial vehicles and 10 to 15 passenger cars were involved.

Conditions between Jellico and the Rarity Mountain Exit were foggy on Thursday.

According to TDOT, traffic eventually backed up into Kentucky with both southbound lanes closed. One lane opened around 7 pm with both lanes reopening after 8 pm. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/19/2021-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF TDOT’S MARK NAGI)
