This La Follette Utilities Board outage map is not anywhere as near as active as it was on Friday night.  LUB crews are making progress in turning the lights back on.  As you can see, the task is monumental.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Based on the outage numbers, LUB crews have hit the halfway point of restoring power outages stemming from Friday night’s severe thunderstorm.

At the height of the storm, more than 3,700 customers were without power, and now that number is down to a tad more than 1,800 at 10:30 am on Saturday.

The work area for LUB crews stretches from Caryville to well into Claiborne County.  LUB General Manager Kenny Baird knew early on Friday night that this would be a lengthy restoration effort.

It’s all hands on deck for employees of LUB.  Many had no sooner clocked out for the day on Friday ready to start their weekends, and the storm struck.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/01/2020-10:30AM)
