Swann remains jailed after September 10th DUI arrest, her third
LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- A call of reckless driver recently sent LaFollette Police Officer Austin Tindell to Campbell County High School. It was 3:30pm, when Tindell arrived, he found a 2004 silver Honda Civic parked sideways and halfway almost onto the curb in a handicap parking space. Officer Tindell made contact with the driver identified as 34-year old Hilary Dessarae Swann who was laid over her seat with her vehicle not in park.
Tindell asked Swann if she was okay, and she stated that she was and she was detailing her car while waiting to pick her child up from the high school. She continued that she did not know where her daughter was, according to a report from the LaFollette Police Department.
Tindell asked her to step out of her vehicle, and she responded that she was going to go to which Officer Tindell told her that she was not leaving in her condition. She then placed her vehicle in reverse almost backing into Tindell’s patrol unit. At this point, Tindell opened her door telling her to step out and again she replied that she was just going to go. The officer informed her that if she did not get out of the vehicle, he would tase her and she complied, according to the report. Swann was asked to perform a field sobriety test to which she performed poorly.
Swann, 34, 225 Mehaffey Road, LaFollette was charged with driving under the influence, 3rd offense and remains housed this morning on a $50,000 bond, according to jail records. Swann is due in court on October 10. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/20/2024-6AM)
