La Follette McDonald’s set to open in September

LAFOLLETTE, TN. (WLAF)- McDonald’s in La Follette will be open in September, according to City of La Follette Administrator Stan Foust. Work to tear down the old building that sits in the 200 block of West Central Avenue began Monday.

Before the former bank can be demolished, asbestos from the structure must first be removed, according to Patrick Byrd with Lakeshore Environmental Contractors of Birmingham. “It’s estimated it’ll take about four days to clear the building of asbestos,” said Byrd.

The razing of the brick building, where the former La Follette High School once sat, will likely begin next Tuesday.

The La Follette McDonald’s will be part of the many franchises owned by Faris Enterprises, which has an office in Clinton.

The company is excited to have a La Follette location, added Foust. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-05/20/2025-6AM-PHOTO COURTESY OF WLAF’S CHARLIE HUTSON)
