William “Bill” Boyd Tidwell, 76, of LaFollette, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Lafollette Medical Center. He was born on October 3, 1948, to the late Ancil Adam Tidwell and China (McNeeley) Tidwell. He enjoyed going to the flea markets, fishing, and working on old cars. He retired from TVA and was a retired United States Army Vietnam Veteran.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Bobbie Jean Chapman, and daughter-in-law Stephanie Tidwell.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Carol Tidwell of LaFollette; sons William (Willie) Tidwell Jr. of Jacksboro and James Tidwell of LaFollette; daughters Angie Smith and husband Russ of LaFollette; brother Verlin Tidwell and wife Deloris of Powell; sister Donna McGhee and husband Wayne of Jacksboro; special niece Kathy Richardson; grandchildren Timothy McNew and Matthew Smith; and several nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
No services are planned at this time.
The family has entrusted the care of William “Bill” Boyd Tidwell to Martin Wilson Funeral Home “Where Families Matter Most”.
Bill was a good friend, in our younger days we spent a lot of time togather and he will be missed.
Bill was a good man.
I’ve known Billy since we were really young at Demory School. He was also very helpful when I was County Executive. He worked with TVA and helped Mr get their permission to develop the Lonas Young Park. Thanks Billy. RIP my old friend.
