Mary Jessie Anderson, 90, Kokomo, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 3:21 a.m. She was born on September 28, 1934, in LaFollette, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Floyd S. and Rena (Sweat) Housley. She was married to Robert M. Snider and Dicky L. Anderson; both have preceded her in death.
Mary retired from Cuneo Press as a press operator and later worked in home health care. She was an avid sports fan who loved cheering for the Cincinnati Reds and Indianapolis. A talented artist and reader, she also enjoyed playing softball and participating in a bowling league for Cuneo Press. Mary had a deep affection for her pets and cherished spending time with her grandchildren. Her bird Kiwi held a special place in her heart.
Mary is survived by her loving children, Cheryl (Ronnie) Marlow, Kimberly Housley and Melissa Gibson; grandchildren, Charlie (Wendy) Pierce, Sabrina (Eddie) MakMansion, Melinda D. Housley, Travis Housley, Monica Finne, Brittany Anderson and Courtney Anderson; great-grandchildren, Tyler Amos, Haley Amos, Liberty Anderson, Eddie Vega Jr., Frances Anderson, Seeairah Edens, Paxton Pierce, and Cody Marlow; great-great-granddaughter, Haylenn Marlow; siblings George Housley, Mary Owens, Sandra Pimberton, Bobby Housley, Eddie Housley, Margaret Peters and Kenneth Housley; sons-in-law, Buddy Gibson Jr., Eddie Vega Sr. and Jeff Carnely; and special friend, Jason “Big Dummy” Williams.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Robert M. Snider, and her second husband, Dicky L. Anderson; son, Robert Housley; siblings, Peggy Griffin and Jimmy Housley; grandchildren, Tommy Pierce, Timmy Pierce, Steven Marlow, Jana Davis, Jenny Gibson and Danny Gibson; and son-in-law, Joey Gunter.
A funeral service will be held at noon on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Paul Sutherland officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Shirley & Stout Funeral Home to assist with final expenses.
