LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- That big chug hole and rough gravel surface at the Well Springs Convenience Center are long gone signaling that all nine Campbell County Convenience Centers are now paved. An additional compacter has been added allowing for improved efficiency at the county’s second busiest center. Though new cardboard bins are on their way, the conclusion of the refurbishment project was officially celebrated on Thursday afternoon.

“Every station was paved this year, and all these improvements were paid for with money we’d set aside along the way. There was no tax increase to do this,” said David Adkins, Director of Sanitation.

The Well Springs Convenience Center is open everyday from 9am until 5pm and is located just east of Miller’s Bridge on old Highway 63.
Out of nine convenience centers across Campbell County, the Well Springs center welcomes more than 1,500 vehicles a week. That’s second only to the 3,500 vehicles that pass through the Towe String Road Convenience Center weekly. It’s also worth noting that a thousand more vehicles a week come through Well Springs compared to the Oswego Center, the third busiest.
“We have new fencing, an expanded service area and you’ll also notice that it smells a lot better around here,” said Mayor Jack Lynch.

Water has also been added to the site making for a way to keep it clean. When the new cardboard bins arrive, they will be positioned on the left as you enter the center.
“I’d like to thank Mayor Lynch and the County Commission for seeing the need and stepping up to help these improvements a reality,” said Adkins. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-07/17/2026-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF WLAF’S CHARLIE HUTSON)
