There’ll not be traffic back ups this weekend on I-75 at the Vasper bridges, at least not due to repairs

Finishing touches are ahead though they will be completed in overnight hours. WLAF’s Charlie Hutson shares this photo from Eagle I.

CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF)- Work to repair both of the Vasper bridges began on April 27 with a completion date scheduled for on or before May 25. The construction wrapped up 10 days early in the predawn hours of Friday, May 16.

All lanes are open on the Vasper Bridges of I-75 at Mile Marker 132.

The objective was to have the bridges back open by or before the Memoria Day weekend. Crews will return following the holiday and lay down the top portion of asphalt, put thermal striping in place, paint the bridges and erect safety fencing due to a railroad running under the bridges, according to one TDOT official. The official adds that these finishing touches will be done during overnight hours.

Traffic was rolling right along a few hours after the bridges totally reopened on Friday morning.
