LAFOLETTE, TN. (WLAF)- LaFollette Police Dillion Marney was patrolling the area near Food City when he saw a silver Hyundai Sonata speeding 57 in 40 mph zone on Sept. 26 around 5 am. Marney stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver identified as Heather Tyler and allegedly smelled a strong odor or Marijuana coming from the vehicle.

When she was asked how much Marijuana was in the car she allegedly stated she was unsure and she had a few bags inside her purse. While Marney was speaking with Tyler he allegedly noticed a Marijuana joint in the center cubby hole in front of the center console. When she ask what it was, she allegedly replied it was Marijuana. When Tyler picked up the Marijuana joint Marney saw a clear bag that under the Marijuana with a clear crystal-like substance suspected to Methamphetamine, according to a report from the LaFollette Police Department.

At this point Lt. Shane Tielman arrived on the scene during this time Marney had the woman step out of her vehicle. Marney searched the vehicle and allegedly found in her purse seven bags of Marijuana with approximately 12.04 grams of Marijuana, two empty bags with residue and one clear bag with a crystal-like substance weighing approximately 1.30 grams. Inside Tyler’s wallet was $164 in cash. In the glove box of the vehicle was a yellow pill that was suspected to be Klonopin.

Tyler, 25, Jacksboro, is charged with possession of schedule I controlled substance, possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of schedule III controlled substance and speeding 57/40.
