JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Educators make a difference in students’ lives every day. For many students, having a school employee who cares and goes that extra mile can be the difference in a successful education and graduation. We’ve all had that teacher, or school employee who inspired us or helped in some way. That’s why WLAF and Eagle Tire Pros salute all of our hardworking educators with a weekly feature.
Tom Campbell is Eagle Tire Pros Educator of the Week. He teaches Personal Finance and U.S. Government at Campbell County High School, where he is also an assistant baseball coach.
Campbell is a 1990 graduate of Campbell County High School and attended “K-12 all in Campbell County Schools.”
He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Clear Creek Baptist Bible College, Master of Business Administration from Southwest University and a graduate certificate in Education from University of West Florida.
His hobbies include “golf, rooting for the Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals and of course, Cougar athletics! (Especially my son in the Cougar Marching Band!)”
Campbell spent more than 15 years in a banking career.

“During this time, I did volunteer financial literacy at Campbell County High School. Volunteering in the classroom – connecting with students and working with teachers – made me want to make teaching my career!” Campbell said.
He has been teaching at Campbell County High School for the last three and a half years, teaching Personal Finance and U.S. Government and is also an assistant baseball coach for the Cougars for the past two seasons.
“I love teaching at my alma mater and also where my daughter is a ’26 graduate and my son will graduate in 2028!” Campbell said.
He said he had several teachers that impacted him while he was in school and that there were “too many to list!”

“Campbell County has excellent educators. Two that stand out are Roger Walden from the former Stinking Creek School, and Carolyn Cox from CCHS,” Campbell said.
He also went over some of the things he loves about being an educator at CCHS.
“I’m extremely blessed to work with outstanding teachers and administrators at CCHS. Every day brings a meaningful connection with this generation of youth. Working with students daily makes me optimistic. I believe the present and future of Campbell County is very bright!”
Every Thursday, WLAF’s Charlotte Underwood features the WLAF – Eagle Tire Pros teacher of the week. That educator also receives a free oil change from Eagle Tire Pros.
