Heatherly retired after 28 years of service

NASHVILLE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF)- Wednesday, on the Senate Floor in the Tennessee State Capitol, State Representative Dennis Powers made a special presentation to Tennessee Highway Patrol Major Stacey Wood Heatherly, retired.

It was a House Joint Resolution in The Tennessee State Senate for the major’s retirement after 28 years of service in the THP.

“I have known Stacey and her family all my life, and her dad, Dr. Burgin Wood, was my doctor for many years.  We are all proud of her for what she has done for our community (Campbell County) and for our state and wish her the best in the next chapter of her life,” said Powers.

“The Senate and the Tennessee House of Representatives thanked Heatherly for her dedication and how she overcame adversity and rose through the ranks and made all of us proud,” said Representative Powers.

State Senator Jessie Seal, State Senator Ken Yager and fellow highway patrolman and State Representative Lowell Russell all participated in the celebration and spoke about Heatherly’s service and dedication and wished her well in her retirement.
