There will be business and individual vendors for resources and shopping respectively. Food vendors will be available in the park due to a delayed announcement of city policy changes resulting in loss of food trucks.

Just like last year’s festival, there will be a Veterans Section which will provide the veterans a free meal, register for prizes to be drawn every hour. There will be a display of area students’ drawings of patriotic theme. Several students have composed letters to deployed soldiers which will be turned in to the chaplain to be distributed to the soldier he feels should receive a letter.

Terry Bray and Darrell Cole, 2500 Mt. Cloud Soaring League will be present to display a fully functional hang glider along with stories of the League’s Founder, Robin Robinson, who brought excitement to the local areas of Eagle Bluff and Mt Cloud Mountain. Robin was a very serious pilot and enjoyed talking with people about their League.

If you’ve ever noticed an enormous green dragon close to the North I75 Exit 134, you’re not the only one. And to think it was designed and built by our very own local, Jim Cole. He was responsible for many designs and build in the Pigeon Forge areas also. Not only was he a structural engineer but also a single engine pilot which he assisted Mr. Ed Robinson in building ‘from scratch’, and not to mention he was also a glider pilot!

Who doesn’t know who Goofy and Steamboat Willie is? Right?! Mr. Ed Robinson was a cartoonist for Disney who was one of a few cartoonists responsible for the design of Goofy. Mr. Robinson was a vocational instructor at the local Area Voc-Tech School. He designed and built a single engine plane with his son, Robin, and friend, Jim Cole, sometimes assisting in the build. It wasn’t unusual for Mr. Robinson to fly over his daughter’s house. If she was out in the yard, he would fly low enough to talk with her. He was an exceptionally, talented person whom everyone loved when meeting him.
