Damaging wind, heavy rainfall, localized flash flooding are main threats from stronger storms

TOP GRAPHIC: Looking ahead to the nation’s birthday, hotter temperatures are likely to make a return beginning around the 4th on Friday and heading into the holiday weekend.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Showers and thunderstorms will come and go Tuesday as temps top out around 83-degrees. We’ll see a mix of clouds and sun, mostly clouds, as humidity makes for an uncomfortable feel again. The best time frame for the strong to severe storms is 4pm through 10pm.

Behind the approaching cold front will be drier air arriving late tonight into Wednesday morning. We’ll be mainly rain-free Wednesday through Sunday though you can’t rule out a mountain thunderstorm here or there. Nineties for highs arrive Friday and linger through Sunday as Sunday brings an outside chance of afternoon showers and storms. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-07/01/2025-6AM)
