JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- An employee has resigned from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office following an alleged incident with an inmate.

Last week, the jail administrator allegedly fired a non-lethal weapon at an inmate, sources told WLAF.

He later resigned, according to Campbell County Chief Deputy Cody Chapman.

The matter was turned over to the Eighth Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

“We are evaluating it to determine the appropriate action,” said District Attorney General Jared Effler.
