‘We will never call you to collect money on an outstanding warrant’- Sheriff Wayne Barton

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- “Please be advised that the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office will never contact you by telephone to collect money on outstanding warrants,” said Campbell Sheriff Wayne Barton. The old scam has been brought back to life by scammers.

If you receive a call from someone claiming to be with the sheriff’s office and asking for payment, this is a scam, according to Barton.

“Do not provide any personal information, and do not send any money. If you receive such a call, please hang up immediately and call us at 423.562.7446,” said the sheriff. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/16/2024-6AM)
