Robert “Bob” Allen Andreas; 86 of Geneva and Waterloo New York; passed away peacefully on September 04, 2025 at LaFollette Tennessee;  Bob is a graduate of Gadsen State University in Alabama; He served for over 20 years in the United States Army, Bob survived over 40 months in the Vietnam War and honorably retired at the rank of First Sergeant (1SG) in the Military Police Corps; Bob’s distinguishments are many but not limited to the Bronze Star Medal with Valor, Bronze Star with 6 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Air Medal, the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Good Conduct Medal (6th award), Army Commendation Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal with V device, Vietnamese Armed Forces Honor Medal (2nd Class), Vietnamese Ranger Badge, Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, Presidential Unit Citation, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation (2nd Award), Republic of Vietnam Civil Actions Unit Citation; Bob completed many prestigious Army schools including Jungle Operations Course, Drill Sergeant Instructor Course, and Airborne Jump School;  Bob was a member of the United States Ranger Association and served as the President of the Veteran Service Officers Association; Bob traveled the world extensively working in many areas of the United States (including in a traveling circus) as well as Japan, France, Belgium, Germany, and the Marshal Islands (working in the Star Wars Missile program); Bob’s greatest passion was serving the Veterans of Campbell County Tennessee; Bob served as the Campbell County Veteran Service Officer from 1995 to his retirement in 2005 and was instrumental in bringing millions of dollars of benefits to the deserving Veterans here; Bob’ s dedication for the Veterans also extended to their dignified deaths as he reconstituted the Campbell County Honor Guard during his time as Service Officer.  Bob is preceeded in death by his parents, Bruno and Margaret (Schefler) Andreas, brothers, Charles, William, Walt; and sister, Ruth Arno;

Bob is survived by his wife, Linda (Long) Andreas, his adopted daughter, Dee (Andreas) Harkins, his step-son, Chris Gregg; Bob’s sisters, Ellie Hudd and Linda Divole; as well as brothers, James Andreas and Richard Pollard;

The family will hold a time to honor First Sergeant Andreas on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 11:00 A. M. – 2:00 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home Chapel.  The Honor Guard of Campbell County and Jellico Honor Guard will stand guard.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Jellico Honor Guard and Honor Guard of Campbell County.  Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Robert “Bob” Allen Andreas.
