Raymond Frederick Kahre, born June 9, 1945, passed away on April 24, 2026.  He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend, and will be greatly missed. 

               Fred was born in Vincennes, Indiana, and grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, where he honed the ability to talk and laugh with anyone and tease the ones he loved incessantly.  After moving to Jellico, Tennessee, he met the love of his life, Linda Lambdin, and they married in 1970.

               Fred was a lifelong educator for the Campbell County school system as a teacher, principal, and administrator.  He was extremely proud of his tenure and continued to try to help connect students to learning opportunities whenever he could.  He was, most importantly, a Believer and was a Member of Cawood Methodist Church in Speedwell, Tennessee.  He showed his love for Christ and others by his actions.  He was a member of many civic organizations that centered around helping others and the camaraderie of friends. 

Preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Edith Harris Lambdin, Father and Mother-in-law,

James and Lois Douglas Lambdin and Brother-in-law, Ricky Lambdin.

Survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Lambdin Kahre

Son, Raymond Frederick Kahre II, and wife Julie Mellon Kahre

Daughter, Laura Kahre Asbury, and husband Robert Asbury

Sisters, Karla Kahre and Stephanie Wyatt, and brother-in-law, Michael Lambdin

Grandchildren Alex Kahre, Brett Asbury, and Leah Kahre

He also had a wonderful group of nieces and nephews that he loved to aggravate whenever he had the opportunity.

Fred’s Family would love to thank the care team at LaFollette Medical Center, Amedysis Hospice, and especially the crew of caregivers at LaFollette Court Assisted Living.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 28, from 5:00–7:00 pm at Llewellyn Funeral Home Chapel, Jellico, Tennessee. The funeral service, including a Masonic ceremony by Jellico Masonic Lodge 527 F&AM and music by Trish McKamy and Rusty Massengill, follows at 7:00 pm. Interment is on Wednesday, April 29, at 10:00 am in Douglas Cemetery, Wooldridge, Tennessee. Llewellyn Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
