Paul Jimmie “PJ” Baird, age 83

Paul Jimmie “PJ” Baird, age 83, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday July 31, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family and friends. Paul enjoyed singing in church, gardening and spending time with his family. He loved his dog, Macy, and his cat, Bandit.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Luther and Ellar Ayers Baird; his first wife, Leona Ayers Baird; brothers, Delmas Baird and infant Carl Baird; sisters, Rose Bruce and Ailene Bruce; nephews Terry Ayers, Tim Ayers, and Eric Baird.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita White Baird; sons, Buddy Joe Baird and wife Billie Jean, Dennis Lynn Bostic and wife Tammy, and Gary Allen Bostic and Yvonnia White; daughter, Lori Ann Bostic; grandchildren, Hannah Baird, Whitney Brooke Bostic and Megan Nicole Bostic; great grandchildren, Maliah Whedbee, Aria Whedbee, and Jaxon Whedbee; brothers, Don Baird and wife Linda, and Cliff Baird and wife Robin; sisters, Clara Ayers, Sylvia McCullah and husband, Bishop Jerome, Mary Ellen Douglas, and Margie Walden and husband Roger; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday August 3, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home. Funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM with Bishop Jerome McCullah, Rev. Jonathan Gibson, and Rev. Edward Smiddy officiating. Friends and family will meet on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 10:15 Am to go in funeral procession to Powell Valley Cemetery for an 11:00 AM burial.
