LaFollette woman released from the hospital, then arrested
LAFOLLETTE, TN. (WLAF)- A request to borrow a car turned into a family brawl on Monday.
LaFollette Police responded to a South Cumberland Ave. home at 11:18am and saw two women fleeing the scene. One jumped over a fence while the other woman went in another direction. The first woman was identified as a victim of the other woman, Brandy Partin, the report said. The first victim told police Partin had allegedly assaulted another woman as well. When police interviewed the victims, they described a scene where Partin was the aggressor.
Partin allegedly wanted to borrow the first victim’s car and when she was told “no” that is when she turned violent, according to the report.
She allegedly attacked a woman in a wheelchair leaving a knot on her knee. As she battered the second victim, the first victim attempted to intercede resulting in her being attacked.
Partin then stopped opting to sit on the floor. A man was called to the home to help control Partin, the report said. When he arrived, Partin assaulted him too. He fought back grabbing the 36-year-old Partin and put her in a chair. However, she didn’t stay seated for long. As the man went to assist the wheelchair bound victim, Partin allegedly picked up a metal door bar and started swinging it around.
The man’s response was quick as he put Partin on the ground and shouted for someone to call 911, the report said.
When police arrived, Partin asserted she was a victim. The man had allegedly “punched her in the face because she had written his name on the shower wall,” the report said. After allegedly assaulting three people, Partin asked to be taken to the hospital. There is no indication that anyone else sought treatment.
Police were waiting when Partin was released from the LaFollette Medical Center. After she was arrested, police searched her purse allegedly finding narcotics.
Partin allegedly had several Xanax, a $20 bill that was folded and contained “a white substance” believed to be Methamphetamine along with $746 in cash police called “proceeds from the sale of prescription drugs,” the report said.
She was charged with one count of child abuse/ neglect, two counts of domestic assault- fear with priors and one count of possession of a schedule IV controlled substance. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED 5/21/2025-6AM)
