On April 27, 2026, Otto Max Lauer, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of quiet strength and a life well lived.

Born on March 20, 1936, in Columbus, Ohio, he carried a strong sense of duty throughout his life, proudly serving his country as a United States Marine. He later built a long career as a truck driver for Roadway, where his hard work allowed him to retire early and spend cherished years with his  wife, Linda “Lynn” Lauer.

He and Lynn, who preceded him in death in 2020, are now reunited in heaven, along with the fur babies they shared throughout the years. He was also preceded in death by three of his children, Jeffery Lauer, Rebecca Lauer, and Richard Lauer, and his sons-in-law, Tommy Gay and Joe Sanchez.

He is survived by his sister, Sherry Lauer, his daughters, Linda Gay and Marty Howard (Kenny); his son, Dana Morgan; and a proud legacy of grandchildren, Mary (Kevin), Tricia (Myron), Chris (Erin), Andy (Joyce), Aimee (Adam), Angie (Shane), Jeremy, Leann (Chris), and Ryan (Katie), along with many great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, extended family members, dear friends and neighbors.

In retirement, he found peace in the hills of Tennessee, where he enjoyed life’s simple pleasures: sitting on the deck with a cold beer, listening to satellite radio, and the many beautiful windchimes that adorned their outdoor space.

Per his request, no services will be held. We simply ask that everyone remember him in their own way.
