Campbell Countian Noah Smith passed his checkride

ATLANTA, GA (SPECIAL TO WLAF)- “Today, I am so excited to share that I passed my Line Orientated Evaluation (LOE), a checkride, and I am officially a licensed airline pilot for the Delta Regional Carrier, Endeavor Air,” said Noah Smith on Wednesday night.

“This afternoon, I successfully completed the evaluation flights, and I am now licensed to fly the CRJ 700/900 regional jets that we see a lot of out of Knoxville. I’ll be flying under the Delta brand but for our Delta Connection Carrier,” said Smith, a Campbell County High alum.

After two months of training in Minneapolis, Smith is finished. His journey started back in 2023 with his first discovery flight, and now two years later, he’s an airline pilot. “I could not have done this without my faith, family, and friends,” said Smith.

“It will be such an honor to fly with you all here very soon on a Delta Connections flight. It will be my honor to “Welcome You Aboard,” said Smith

Smith stated that he is excited to head home to Campbell County and get back involved in our amazing community. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-06/26/2025-6AM)
