LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- In the wee hours of Sunday morning, La Follette Police Officer Robbie Cobb observed a white Mazda sedan with no back license plate lights while on routine patrol. The Mazda was traveling east into La Follette on West Central Avenue.
The officer executed a traffic stop on the Mazda in front of Domino’s and made contact with the driver from the passenger side. Cobb explained to the driver, Kaylee Hubbard, the reason for the stop and requested her license, registration and insurance.
When Hubbard spoke to Officer Cobb, Cobb stated in his report that he smelled the odor of alcoholic beverage, and only when she spoke. Cobb observed a half drank bottle of Crown Royal on the passenger side floorboard.
Officer Cobb asked Hubbard if she had been drinking, and she allegedly replied “I have.” Hubbard explained that she had been hanging out with her ex at Rutledge and due to his behavior, she felt the need to leave and then drove to La Follette, according to police report.
Officers Christian Mullins and Jerry Campbell arrived on scene to assist Cobb. Mullins stayed with Hubbard while Cobb investigated further.
Campbell administered a field sobriety test. He stated in the report that he believed he saw only two clues during the test, and coupled with Hubbard’s physical performance and her admissions, he believed she was impaired.
Hubbard, 30, White Pine, was charged with DUI with one prior DUI conviction. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-06/02/2026-6AM)
