CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN. (WLAF)- The former Campbell County teacher charged with sexual battery hasn’t contested his extradition to Florida.

In court yesterday, Christopher Michael “Chris” Monaghan, 47, agreed to willingly go to Florida to face the charge of child sexual battery on a child under 12. He is currently awaiting that extradition in the county jail.

Monaghan is alleged to have committed this crime between June 12 and June 14, 2008, according to court documents. Officials said the victim reported the crime last month.

This year, Florida passed a new law making sexual offenses against children as cases where the death penalty can be applied.
