JELLICO, TN (WLAF) – It was win or go home Saturday at Jellico’s Lindsey Gymnasium as the Blue Devils hosted the Rockwood Tigers. The Blue-and-White swept Rockwood in the regular season. However, it is well known that anything can happen at tournament time.

Would there be some tournament drama like a down-to-the-wire finish or an upset? No. Not at all. Jellico blitzed out to a 14-2 lead, and never let Rockwood even get close.

The driving force for the offense was Gavin Dabney for Jellico. Dabney tied the school record for most made threes in a game, despite not playing in the fourth quarter. Dabney drained 11 long shots to make up his 37 points.

Also in the scoring column, Caleb Rose totaled 15 points. Seth Brandenburg scored 14 points. Trey Vann contributed 11 points. Jacob Bowlin finished with four. Braydyn Teague, Dakota Marlow, and Dre Webb scored two points a piece.

The Blue Devils cruised to an 87-46 victory over Rockwood, sending Jellico to the semifinals of the Region 2-A Tourney. Jellico plays Harriman, a team they split with in the regular season, on Tuesday at Wartburg Central High School. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED 03/03/2025 – 6AM)
