LUB, Town of Jacksboro, Board of Education and Town of Caryville to hold meetings

CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN (WLAF)- The Town of Jacksboro’s regular monthly meeting is Mon., April 27, at 2:00pm, at Town Hall.

Director of Schools Charlotte McCoy put change orders together and delivered them to the finance department on Friday and a final vote on the 141 budget will take place on Tuesday at 5:30 at the courthouse. In the meantime, the board will take up budget sessions on the 142 and 143 budgets on Monday, April 27, at the courthouse at 5:30, in a recessed budget meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss and take any necessary action regarding the 2026-2027 school budget.

The La Follette Utilities Board holds its workshop and regular monthly meeting Monday, April 27, at 6pm, at the LUB offices on North Tennessee Avenue.

The Town of Caryville has been without a vice mayor since November. That’s when Mayor David Chambers resignation from his post was accepted, and Vice Mayor Beth Lawson took over as mayor. Chambers was elected in November 2024.

The Town of Caryville Mayor and Board of Aldermen had called a meeting for Thursday, April 23, at 3pm, at the Municipal Building. One of the items on the agenda is the vice mayor vacancy. However, the April 23 meeting was postponed late Thursday morning and moved to Monday, April 27, at 6pm.
