JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- Ronnie Market, Jr. has been deemed guilty of multiple counts of aggravated sexual battery. On Wednesday afternoon, a jury returned the verdict following a two day trial.

Market was indicted of seven counts of aggravated sexual battery in September 2022.

From August 2017 until the end of February 2018, Market, 59, Caryville, sexually abused a child who was younger than 13- years-old at the time of the crimes, according to court records.

His bond was revoked following the verdict. His sentencing is scheduled for June 16. Market will remain in the Campbell County Jail pending that hearing.

The Eighth Judicial District Attorneys General’s Office was assisted in prosecuting the case by the Caryville Police Department, Department of Children’s Services and the Campbell County Children’s Center. During the trial, the victim, the family,  and witnesses utilized the Safe Space room in the Campbell County Courthouse.  At trial, the State was represented by Assistant District Attorneys General Philip A. Kazee and Joe Duncan.
