‘I took a little Meth last night-‘ Phillip Pack, according to a La Follette Police report

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- La Follette Police respond to an afternoon wreck that ends with a Jacksboro man going to jail.

On Tue., Oct. 1, at approximately 2pm, La Follette Police Officer Cheyenne White was dispatched to 510 South Cumberland Avenue for a wreck with unknown injuries. Officer White arrived at the scene and made contact with a male identified as Phillip Matthew Pack. The officer saw a gray Nissan Altima with front-end damage sitting in the middle of the front yard of a home near the East Fir Street intersection. The Nissan had struck a tree. Patrolman White saw tire tracks that started on the left shoulder of South Cumberland Avenue, continued through a ditch, a gravel driveway, and then grass.

When Pack was asked what had happened, he replied that he must have fallen asleep, according to a report from the La Follette Police Department. Officer White asked Pack to perform field sobriety tests to which he allegedly performed unsatisfactorily. The officer then asked Pack what narcotic he had taken, and he allegedly replied that he had taken “a little Meth” last night.

Pack was wearing a tennis shoe on his left foot and a work boot on his right foot. Pack claimed to have another boot or shoe in the vehicle that matched, but officers did not find another shoe or boot, according to the report.

Pack was placed under arrest for driving under the influence and transported to the Campbell County Jail.

The 39-year old Pack of Mountain Perkins Lane, Jacksboro, was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), possession of schedule III controlled substance and violation implied consent law. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-10/14/2024-6AM)
