JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- At 11:45pm Saturday, members of the Campbell County Rural Fire Service and the La Follette Rescue Squad responded to a report of a vehicle accident. The first call to Central Dispatch told the operator that they thought someone was trapped in the wreckage.

Wind chills were below zero as first responders answered this wreck call.

Once on scene, crews found a pick-up truck against a tree on Indian River Boat Dock Road. Crews found the patient severely pinned in the pick-up truck.

First responders were on the scene of the wreck for the better part of an hour.

Crews were able to extricate the patient. His condition warranted medical helicopter transportation. However, weather conditions would not allow the flight, and he was transported to a Knoxville hospital by Campbell EMS.
