Mabel (Carroll) Stephens, age 70 formerly of LaFollette

Mrs. Mabel (Carroll) Stephens, age 70 of Helenwood, TN, formerly of LaFollette, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.  She was of the Baptist Faith and was formerly employed with Thermador until her retirement.  Mabel loved being with her family, and enjoyed camping, fishing, and being outdoors.  She is preceded in death by parents, George and Algiadee (Wilson) Carroll, brother, Robert “Bear” Carroll, sister, Lynn Bean, and an infant brother and sister.    

She is survived by her husband, Dean Stephens; daughter, Tonya Stooksbury and husband, Brock; grandchildren, Sydnee Johnson and husband, Taylor, Kaitlin Acuff (Tristan Kroner), and Robert Stooksbury (Rayna Dinning); great-grandchildren, Marley Acuff, Blakely Johnson, Kyson Kroner, Cleo Kroner, and Lainey Stooksbury; brother, Bo Carroll and wife, Shelia; sisters, Lou Claiborne and husband, Walt, and Sharon Ivey; nieces, Monica Carroll and Julie Bowlin; nephews, Michael Bailey and Clifton Ivey; special great-nephew, Tamen Bowlin.  Several other great nephews, great nieces, other relatives and friends. 

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home Chapel.  A family eulogy by Dwayne Byrd will be held at 3:00 P.M.  Interment will follow at Bakers Forge Cemetery.  Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Mabel Carroll Stephens.
