LUB Attorney Kathy Parrott turned in her 60 days’ notice

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- At its Monday evening meeting, members of the LaFollette Utilities Board discussed the resignation of LUB Attorney Kathy Parrott who has turned in her 60 days’ notice that she does not plan to renew her legal services contract with the utility.

Her contract comes to end on June 30th.

The LUB Board approved to advertise the position immediately for two weeks.

LaFollette Utilities Board Attorney Kathy Parrott submitted her 60 days’ notice that she will not be renewing her contract as the board’s attorney. LUB board members discussed advertising the position during Monday’s workshop and meeting.

During the workshop, LUB Board Chairman John Snodderly announced Parrott had submitted her letter of notice and that the utility needed to begin advertising for the position “immediately.”

“It would be an excellent idea to get someone in place so they can work with Kathy before she exits. We need to advertise and see who is interested and we do need to go rather quickly. It is imperative we get someone in place to sit down with Kathy and go over anything outstanding that we have,” Snodderly said.

He also thanked her for her time in the position and all she had done.

“We wish Kathy the best … I would like to say thank you on behalf of the utilities for everything you have done. You have done some wonderful things, and we appreciate it,” Snodderly said.

He suggested advertising the position in the ”local media right away in the hope to get the resumes in and get someone in this position.”

Utility General Manager Regina Kennedy thanked Parrott for her service as well.

“Thank you, Kathy, it’s been a pleasure to work with you,” Kennedy said.

Parrott said she had enjoyed the position and had learned a lot while there.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed the job. It has been interesting,” She also complimented the utility and all its staff for the role they play in keeping the electric on.

“Everyone that works here has special skills … they all step up and serve the community, especially during storms, they are making a big contribution,” Parrott said. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-04/29/2025-6AM)
