Wet, windy and muggy Thursday under partly sunny skies as the high hits 81

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- The first round of heavy rainfall and storms has moved through Campbell County, and a second round will develop late Thursday afternoon into the evening. A few strong to possibly severe storms are likely in this next round, though there is low chance and confidence.

The main threats are damaging straight line winds and heavy rainfall.  Because of the heavy rainfall, flooding is once again a concern.

We begin a stretch of mainly rain-free days and nights on Friday lingering through at least Monday as the heat builds.  Temps will hover around 90 Saturday and Sunday with heat index values forecast to exceed 100 degrees across the Tennessee Valley beginning Sunday, persisting through the end of next week.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-06/19/2025-2PAM-GRAPHIC COURTESY OF THE NWS MORRISTOWN)
