Linda Ann Whited (Allen), born May 28, 1947, in Caryville, Tennessee, entered into her heavenly home on July 16, 2026 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Linda’s life was a testament to devotion, joy, and kindness. Throughout her 79 years, she made an indelible mark on the countless lives she touched—always giving, always loving, and always putting the happiness of others before her own.

She dedicated her professional life to the care and growth of young children, working as a beloved Pre-K teacher at East LaFollette, College Hill, Valley View, and Caryville Elementary schools. Linda truly loved her students, nurturing them with encouragement, patience, and laughter, making every child feel valued and cherished. Her devotion to education continues to ripple outward through the generations she inspired.

Family was the bedrock of Linda’s life. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 59 years, Don Whited of Jacksboro, with whom she built a home filled with warmth and love. Her legacy is further carried on by her sons, Kyle Whited of Jacksboro and Joe Whited and wife Emily of Jacksboro. Linda especially treasured being present for her grandchildren—Ashley Moore, Amanda Whited, Maddie Ridenour and husband Jacob, and Karlie Whited and fiance Will Kelly—and she delighted in every moment with her great-grandchildren, Skyler Moore, Ava Moore, and Madden Joseph Ridenour. Her siblings, Homer Allen of Clinton and Rita Ward and husband Fred, of Crossville. She loved her very special aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Linda’s love for her family was her greatest source of happiness. She cherished every gathering, every shared meal, and every laugh. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were frequent companions in her adventures, each new experience a joyful memory to treasure.

A very talented piano player, she could fill any room with music that brought smiles and comfort to all who listened. She relished playing basketball, friendly games of Phase 10, walks at the park, swimming, singing, and four-wheeling in the mountains. She found delight in Dollywood’s lights and energy, always keen to explore and create special moments with her loved ones.

Her faith was central to her life. Linda was a member of First Independent Missionary Baptist Church, where she contributed her voice and spirit to the congregation and formed friendships and memories that sustained her through the years.

She leaves behind a legacy of gentleness, devotion, and joy—a life lived to its fullest, with family close and God in her heart.
