Larry Ray Johnson, age 62 of Jacksboro, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on February 7, 1962, to the late RM Johnson and Frankie “Campbell” Johnson. Larry was a loving husband of 41 years, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many, that enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandsons. He also enjoyed going to church where he was a member of Ivey Dale Holiness Church for many years. Larry also loved hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors, and was a very talented craftsman, especially in woodworking.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Francis (Red), Micheal Lee, and Charles Johnson; and infant sisters Nancy and Nellie Johnson.
Larry is survived by his loving wife Missy “Asbury” Johnson of Jacksboro; daughters Kayla Adkins and husband Mikey of Jacksboro and Hollie Crapsey and husband Shawn of Jacksboro; grandsons Rhett, Clay, and Carter; brothers Raymond Johnson of Jacksboro, R.L. Johnson and wife Sharon of Pioneer, and Monroe Johnson and wife Sheila of Jacksboro; sisters Elizabeth Ayers of Jacksboro, Cordelia Johnson of Jacksboro, Geraldine Lawson and husband Robert of LaFollette, Wilma Swafford of Jacksboro, and Rose Blevins of Jacksboro; and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM on Saturday, January 25, 2025, in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Ivey Dale Holliness Church with Rev. Richard Long and Rev. George Asbury officiating. Interment to follow funeral service at Powell Valley Cemetery.
