The price of gasoline rose by 30-cents on Tuesday

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- The price of gasoline, regular unleaded self-serve, has really jumped since March 2. On that day, the price was $2.29 a gallon. After steady increases, including a 27-cent bump on April 28, the price was $3.75 on Tuesday morning and spiked to $4.05 during the day. The last time we were paying for a price of gasoline in this price neighborhood was in July 2022 when the price was $4.14.

So far in 2026, the year opened at $2.22 a gallon and then went to $2.21 on January 6 and to $2.29 on February 12.

Last May, we were paying $2.47 a gallon. Ten years ago, the lowest price in Campbell County was $2.08 a gallon in May 2016, and it was $2.76 on May 20, 2021, five years back.
