Campbell 62 Central 41

KNOXVILLE, TN (WLAF) – The Lady Cougars traveled to Fountain City on Tuesday night to take on the Lady Bobcats of Central High School in a District 3-AAAA contest.

Campbell started fast and never looked back. It was a shooting show on offense and a defensive masterclass. At the end of the first half, the Lady Cougars led 31-10. Carley Kitts and Reagan Davis led the offense in the first half. Kitts scored 11 and Davis totaled 10.

In the second half, it was the Lady Cougars’ bench against the Central starters, and despite that, Campbell and Central both scored the same amount of points in the third and fourth quarters. When the final horn sounded, the Orange-and-Blue left Central with a 62-41 victory.

Tops in scoring for Campbell County was Lacey Pemberton with 15 points. Reagan Davis, the Mills Door and More Player of the Game, scored 13 points, her highest total of the year. Carley Kitts finished right behind Davis with 11 points. Bella Lester totaled nine points. Jayden Kitts finished with 6 points. Karlie Allen scored four. Aleah Woodson contributed with three points, and Preslee Chapman, in her first-ever start, rounded out the score book with one point. Destiny Rutherford and Ellie Faulkner played but did not score. Saylor Hutcheson was with her team and sat out the game recovering from an injury.

Up next for Campbell is a homecoming game with Powell. The Lady Cougars and Lady Panthers tip off at 6 pm on Friday from Brown Gym.
