TALLY TOWN, TN (WLAF)- Italian heritage and the role of Italians who literally helped build La Follette were celebrated on Saturday. Downtown Lafollette’s Freeman Corner and First Street was a busy place Saturday as a large number of friends and family come from near and far to the second Talley Town Festival.

The fall air was filled with the sound of music and laughter along with the smell of some great food. Food trucks and picnic tables were set up on First Street. Performers were on the L.A. Cruizer’s stage all during the festival. There was a venders corner across the street from Freeman Corner and more set up in the Pyro Shows parting lot.

The young folks weren’t forgotten as games and activities were set up for them.  Common Ground Coffee Shop provided a room full of history about the Italian families from this area provided by the Campbell County Historical Society. Missi Woods Brown from the Campbell County Historical Society said, “People have been great providing them with pictures and information about their Italian family history that is on display at the festival. The number of people getting involved continues to grow and so will the festival, according to Brown.
