Judy Lynn Bolton, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sibling, passed away October 18, 2023 in Cleveland, TN. Born on October 25, 1946 in LaFollette Tennessee to Everett and Mildred Brown where she lived until 1985. While in LaFollette, she worked in the Campbell County School system as secretary at College Hill Elementary and then moved to Campbell County High School. During this time, she made special memories and friends.
Judy moved to Cleveland, TN in 1985 and began her career at the Church of God International Offices where she served for more than 29 years alongside Reverend Julian Robinson, her boss, mentor as well as friend. She loved going to work and dedicated her career to serve the church. During this time, she demonstrated a gift to see and love people for who they were. Her time at International Offices blessed her with many life long friends she considered family.
She enjoyed: teaching Sunday School, being around the water (not in it) and was passionate about her southern gospel music. She lived out her faith daily and was known as a prayer warrior. She loved helping others but being with family was her greatest joy.
Judy is preceded in death by her mother and father, Everette and Mildred Brown; grandparents, Fred and Jeanette (Bullard) Bean and Sherman and Florence Brown.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her husband of 27 years William Bolton; daughters, Sheila (Jeff) Russell; Monica (Jason) Trantham; Regina (Keith) Campbell; son, Darryl Poteet; Brother, Jerry (Becky) Brown; special nephew; Jason Brown; grandchildren; Kelton Poteet, Kolby Poteet, Logan and (Kate) Russell; Jayce Trantham, Clay Trantham, Christian Ward and Faith Ward; great grandchild; Wren Russell; special sister-n-law; Delores (Verlin) Tidwell; special friends; Joyce McGlamery, Pam Brewer, Debbie Ray and many special close cousins, nieces and nephews.
A funeral to celebrate her life will be Sunday, October 22, 2023, from 12:00-2:00 PM at Cross-Smith Funeral Home in LaFollette, TN with the funeral to follow at 2:00 PM, Rev. Ben McGlamery officiating. Interment to follow at Campbell Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to offer their appreciation to the Hospice Staff of Chattanooga for their care and kindness during her last days.
She continues to pass on the strong legacy of faith and family which she most valued.
