Joyce Long, lovingly known as “FloFlo” to her family and “Tiny” to her many friends, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 11, 2026.

Born on April 16, 1938, Joyce lived a life defined by kindness, faith, and a genuine love for people. She never met a stranger and treated everyone she encountered with the same warmth and respect, whether a lifelong friend or someone she had just met.

Joyce dedicated many years of her life to serving others through her work at LaFollette Middle School, where she was the welcoming face at the front desk. She had a special way of making every student feel seen, valued, and loved, and her impact will be felt for generations to come.

She loved meeting new people, cared for any animal that showed up on her doorstep, and was the most loyal friend a person could ask for.

Her faith was the foundation of her life. She not only lived it daily but passed it on, especially to her family. She loved singing in her church choir. Through her love and guidance, she helped lead those closest to her to a relationship with Christ, a legacy that will continue far beyond her years.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, C.W. Long; her parents, Reverend Audra Cooper and Gwendolyn Lindsay Cooper; and her brothers, Johnny and Robert Cooper.

She is survived by her son, John W. Long and wife, Amy; her grandsons, Brandon Johnson and Johnathon Long and girlfriend, Mickinze Schroeder, all of LaFollette.

She leaves behind a family who adored her, a community made better because of her, and a testimony of faith that will never be forgotten.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 16th at First Baptist Church of LaFollette, with the funeral service to follow.

The burial procession will meet on Friday, April 17th at 10:15 AM at Cross-Smith Funeral Home before proceeding to Campbell County Memorial Gardens.

In honoring Joyce’s life, we remember a woman who loved deeply, served faithfully, and left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
