Jay Will Phillips age 90 of Stoney Fork, went home to be with Lord on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Methodist Medical Center. He was born on January 18, 1934, to the late Benjamin Phillips and Judy Phillips. Jay was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather that loved hunting, fishing, using the metal detector to find coins and artifacts, and he enjoyed playing Wild Wood Flower on his guitar. Jay was also a member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Glennis (Carroll) Phillips; son Terry Phillips; brothers Tom Phillips, Matthew Phillips, Robert Phillips, Charlie Phillips, Lorenza Phillips, Alex Phillips, and Abe Phillips; and sister Ernia Blanton.
Jay is survived by his sons Gary Phillips and wife Karen of Stoney Fork, Roger Phillips of Stoney Fork, and Jerry Phillips and wife Debra of Stoney Fork; sister Pearl Wilshire of Clinton; 5 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will from 5:00-7:00 PM on Saturday, December 21, 2024, in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with a Masonic service to follow at 7:00 PM. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. James Adkins and Rev. Thomas Adkins officiating. Interment to follow funeral service at Phillips Cemetery in Stoney Fork.
