Mile marker 157, three miles south of Jellico, is where the truck fire was fought

Southbound travelers on I-75 sat for several hours as firefighters battled this blaze.

JELLICO, TN (WLAF)- Starting at Mile Marker 157, the southbound lanes of I-75 on the north side of Campbell County were shutdown for hours late Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening due to a truck fire. The first call of an 18-wheeler being on fire came in to Central Dispatch at 5:43pm Sunday.

The Jellico Rescue Squad, which covers from the Stinking Creek Exit of I-75, eight miles into Kentucky; a total of 30 miles of I-75, responded to the fire along with several other agencies including Campbell County EMA and the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

The interstate has since been reopened. No injuries were reported.

I-75 southbound lanes in Campbell County were closed for about three hours on Sunday evening.
