Higginbotham was instrumental in obtaining the Americans Disability Act (ADA) compliant courtesy dock at Graveyard Point. The dock was dedicated in honor of Higginbotham.

“This stands as a testament to the hard work of Robert Higginbotham put in to get this worked on; it is the first ADA compliant wheelchair dock in the county. It marked a significant milestone in fostering inclusiveness. We are grateful for the leadership that went into this,” Bruce said. Higginbotham was unable to make it to Monday’s meeting.
